If you served active duty outside of the United States for at least 90 days between Dec. 31, 2008 and May 11, 2010, you could be eligible for the $8,000 tax credit. The program for first time home buyers has been extended for one year for those meeting the requirements.
You must entered into a binding contract to buy a principal residence on or before April 30, 2011 and must close by June 30, 2011.
